Pistacia lentiscus

Gum of the Gods

Derived from the sacred mastic tree, this natural, aromatic resin can only be found in one place in the entire world: the mystical Greek island of Chios, nestled in the northern Aegean Sea.

Revered for millennia, it was cherished by Ancient Greeks, Egyptians and Romans and woven into ritual and daily life. Its golden resin was believed to connect body, mind and spirit, offering clarity, vitality and renewal. More than a chew, mastic is a gift of nature.

The ritual

Ritualise each chew.

Chewing mastic is more than a habit. It is an ancient ritual of grounded presence. With each chew we connect breath, body and intention, anchoring ourselves in the moment while opening space for focus and creativity. Whether you are creating, working or simply being, the rhythm becomes a meditation.

  1. 1

    Pause

Take two or three small tears of resin from the tin.

  2. 2

What to expect

The mastic experience.

A return to nature. It begins firm as a resin crystal, softening slowly as warmth brings it to life. Some pieces stay harder, others more supple: a reminder that imperfection is its own perfection.

The taste is piney, pure and quietly grounding. Not the synthetic pop of plastic bubblegum, but something raw, real and natural.

Questions

Good to know.

What is mastic gum?

Mastic is the natural resin of the mastic tree (Pistacia lentiscus). It weeps from the bark in golden drops that harden into small crystals, which are hand-collected on the Greek island of Chios. Ritualistic contains just one ingredient: that resin.

What does it taste like?

Piney, clean and quietly aromatic. There is no sugar and no synthetic flavour, so it tastes of the tree it came from rather than a sweet burst.

Why are some pieces harder than others?

Each tear of resin is formed by nature, so no two are the same. Pieces start firm and soften with the warmth of your mouth. Mix a harder piece with a softer one for the ideal chew.

How do I chew it?

Take two or three small pieces and chew slowly. Give them a minute to warm up and come together. Let it become a pause in your day: before work, after a meal, or whenever you want to reset.

How much is in a tin?

Each reusable tin holds 20g of premium mastic tears. Keep it closed, cool and out of direct sunlight between rituals.

Is it vegan and sugar-free?

Yes. It is plant-based, sugar-free, plastic-free and free from additives, preservatives and sweeteners.
